The author argues that Yoder's political language ultimately limits his ethical vision, confining Christianity to social ethics. This perspective, according to Martens, marginalizes many orthodox Christian claims, including ecumenical creeds, leading to the conclusion that Yoder's Christian ethic is heterodox in nature.
