The experience of assisted dying for Dutch healthcare staff

Focusing on the experiences of Dutch healthcare professionals, this research explores the implications of assisted dying legislation, given the Netherlands' long history with the practice. Using a constructivist approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with doctors, nurses, and therapists, revealing both discipline-specific and common themes. The study highlights the emotional and practical challenges faced by these professionals, offering new insights into their perspectives and suggesting areas for further research that may inform policymakers.
