Focusing on the post-Soviet era, this study explores the nationalist and pro-independence movements in five Central Asian republics following their independence in 1991. It delves into the unique historical, cultural, and geographical factors influencing each country's evolution, highlighting the significant differences among them. Despite these variations, common trends in political and economic development, as well as external relations, have emerged. The analysis is provided by an expert in Eurasian studies, offering insights into the region's complex dynamics.
