Focusing on the impact of the transition from Apartheid to democracy, this study explores how ethnic entrepreneurs in South Africa leverage networking to secure and manage capital. Analyzing data from 325 entrepreneurs across different ethnic backgrounds in KwaZulu-Natal, it reveals significant differences in networking strategies and perceptions of the institutional environment. Utilizing a mixed embeddedness approach, the research underscores the influence of local economic structures and legal factors on ethnic enterprises, offering recommendations for fostering entrepreneurship development in the region.
