Exploring the implications of demographic change, this research study focuses on Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) in the context of home care. It highlights the European Union's pivotal role in advancing AAL solutions to address future demands. The study develops a categorization scheme for AAL solutions and utilizes E. M. Rogers' Diffusion of Innovations theory to identify challenges in their adoption. Ultimately, it provides evidence-based recommendations for enhancing the diffusion and future research directions of AAL technologies.
