Focusing on Ireland's evolving stance towards the Palestine question since 1948, this work utilizes Irish archival sources, parliamentary debates, and international documents. It analyzes Ireland's policy before and after joining the UN, highlighting its deepening engagement in the Israel-Palestine conflict post-EEC accession in the 1970s. The study delineates four key phases, including Ireland's increasing support for Palestinian aspirations and the impact of the PLO's acceptance of a negotiated settlement during the Madrid and Oslo peace processes.
