However, these developments have introduced significant psychological challenges for affected children and their families, which have not been adequately addressed. Pediatric psychology has emerged to fill this gap, focusing on the impact of chronic illness and trauma, while less attention has been given to daily caregiving issues and their effects on the sick child's development and personality.
