Between Worlds: Grounded Theory Study of College Provisional Students

Focusing on the experiences of provisionally admitted college students, this study examines their journey towards earning a baccalaureate degree, highlighting the challenges faced by first-generation students and those from nontraditional backgrounds. It reveals how personal and family issues, along with inadequate secondary schooling, hindered their academic progress. The research emphasizes the need for developing persistence behaviors before college to improve the transition to higher education, providing valuable insights for education leaders.
