The research delves into how past experiences with social studies shape pre-service teachers' attitudes toward teaching the subject. It highlights the significant reduction in core social studies instruction in elementary schools and emphasizes the need for teacher education programs to address this gap. Findings indicate that while previous experiences influence pre-service teachers' initial ideas, these perspectives can evolve over time. Moreover, the uncertainty faced during their training does not directly impact their classroom performance.
