Exploring Immanuel Levinas's ideas on Ethics, Frederick Young interrogates the intersections of philosophy, animality, and conceptual art to redefine political thought. By engaging with Jean-Luc Nancy's concept of "being-with" devoid of "being," Young challenges traditional ontological views and reimagines the concept of the city and political engagement. He also reflects on Walter Benjamin's inquiry into a "politics of art," proposing that transformative critique can yield new, inhuman materialities that reshape our understanding of the political. The final chapters connect these themes to film and the art collective Neue Slowenische Kunst.
