Focusing on innovative solutions to global warming and plastic waste disposal, this work explores a solar-powered process that utilizes waste plastics as fuel for energy generation. It combines research on solar concentrators and the pyrolysis/gasification of plastics, aiming to design an effective solar receiver-reactor for producing hydrogen-rich synthesis gas. The book details thermal analysis studies on the decomposition behaviors of various plastics, including LDPE, HDPE, PET, and PVC, along with kinetic parameters essential for developing a functional solar reactor.
