Focusing on the development of a visual ground to air marking system, this thesis investigates its requirements for use in counterinsurgency operations by ground combat units. It details an experiment conducted as part of a graduate program at the United States Army Command and General Staff College, aiming to address the identified problem. Additionally, the work offers recommendations for integrating effective marking systems into the United States Army's inventory.
