Focusing on the "liability of foreignness" (LOF), this thesis explores the additional costs faced by firms in foreign markets compared to domestic ones. It highlights the need for actionable strategies for multinational enterprises (MNEs) to mitigate LOF, addressing a significant research gap. By leveraging institutional theory, the work investigates isomorphic strategies, particularly the adaptation and imitation of legitimate practices, to assess their effectiveness in reducing these costs. This study aims to enhance the understanding of practical solutions for MNEs navigating foreign markets.
