Focusing on the radicalization of anti-Jewish policies in Fascist Italy, this seminar paper examines the historical developments from 1933 to 1945 that led to a significant shift in Italian attitudes towards Jews. It contrasts Italian researchers' emphasis on national history with the comparative approaches of scholars from Germany, England, and the U.S. While many attribute Italy's anti-Semitism to external influences from Nazi Germany, the paper argues for a deeper understanding of internal factors unique to Italy's historical context, highlighting notable differences from the German experience.
