The investigation focuses on the behavior of non-Newtonian fluids in porous media through pore-scale network modeling. It categorizes these fluids into time-independent, time-dependent, and viscoelastic types, utilizing three-dimensional networks of sand pack and Berea sandstone. An iterative numerical technique calculates the pressure field, flow rate, and apparent viscosity, particularly analyzing the Ellis and Herschel-Bulkley models. The study validates the network model against experimental data, exploring yield-stress phenomena and developing algorithms to predict threshold yield pressure.
