Focusing on the evolution of the Ismaili imamate, this study explores the interplay between authority and territory, particularly through the lens of Aga Khan, the 49th hereditary leader of Shi'a Imami Ismaili Muslims. It offers a contemporary analysis of how the imamate has adapted and transformed, highlighting the unique aspects of leadership and community dynamics within this religious context.
