Focusing on the establishment of Liberal Arts Colleges in 19th-century Western India, this work explores how British educational frameworks influenced local social and political dynamics. It details the transfer of administrative systems and liberal education concepts from Britain, analyzing historical sources to assess their broader impact. The colleges, particularly within the University of Bombay, emerged as vital spaces for social engagement, fostering graduates who confidently challenged colonial authority in the early 20th century.
