Set against the backdrop of Machu Picchu, Thomas, a novice monk, faces the looming presence of death while caught in the chaotic ambitions of Mad Brendan, who seeks gold and divine power. As Thomas grapples with his fate, he is drawn into the mystical realms of his Druidic heritage, aided by his companion Brosius. Their journey is further complicated by the efforts of their Chinese friends, who attempt to use ancient medical knowledge to save Thomas while navigating uncharted waters.
