An ethical framework is developed to explore the nature of goodness and its pursuit. The author analyzes the term "good," proposing a welfarist view where mental states directly influence well-being and desires drive motivation rather than moral beliefs. He argues against the concept of "objective wrongness" while defending the possibility of "objective goodness." In the second part, a Christian perspective on achieving a good life is presented, emphasizing relationships of benevolence as central to human flourishing, in line with Hume's focus on desire.
