This book examines the cultural changes that Barcelona has undergone in recent years with the creation of cultural policies adapting to a new urban context. In 1996 Barcelona City Council took a structural decision of far-reaching significance for the future running of municipal competencies in the realm of the creation of the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona. This new organization was to be a new instrument that would serve to adapt cultural policies to a new urban context. The book seeks to bear witness to the cultural changes that Barcelona has undergone in these last years.
