Iran and a Mexican drug cartel forge an unholy alliance to create a gateway across the U.S.-Mexican border for al-Qaeda militants to slip undetected into the U.S. The resulting assault will dwarf the World Trade Center attack. While the U.S. leadership is distracted by the al-Qaeda threat, Iran is on the verge of arming its first nuclear weapon. The CIA and the U.S. military execute a brazen covert operation, which if successful, will crush al-Qaeda and devastate Iran's nuclear program. On the outer fringes of this international struggle, sleepy Cuchara, Colorado, has to deal with some extremely unsavory visitors.
