Tukārāma, his person and his religion

An analysis and a portrait of the religious world and the person of Tukarama (17th century), whose strong influence is felt even today in the «Bhakti»-religion especially in Maharastra. His position in his own religious world and in the present one in India remains central. An objective enquiry of his concept of God and of religion had been necessary, in the background of the fact that contradictions often arising in his compositions have lead to interpretations.
