Viac o knihe

The terms 'narrative' and 'Romanticism' have been redefined in recent decades, moving away from the perception that Romantic fiction holds little merit. The Romantic period is now recognized as a crucial phase in the evolution of the British novel, prompting ongoing efforts to recover and reassess its narratives. This reorientation has also influenced the study of narrative itself, with new genres and media gaining attention and various postclassical approaches emerging, reflecting a broader understanding of narrative and its cultural and historical contexts. The phrase "Narratives of Romanticism" encompasses both narratives created during the Romantic period and those reflecting on it. This volume explores both types, featuring diverse approaches, including Deleuzian deconstruction, cognitive sciences, affect theory, and ecocriticism. Contributors agree that narratives are vital for organizing human experience and facilitating sense-making. The volume includes contributions from scholars such as Sandra Heinen, Ian Duncan, and Mathelinda Nabugodi, among others, who collectively enrich the discourse surrounding the significance of narratives in understanding Romanticism.
