Fishing in remote northern Minnesota, detective Virgil Flowers is asked to help investigate a local homicide case. A woman has been shot at an exclusive health and nature resort. But the more Flowers digs, the more he discovers the seemingly tranquil retreat hides a hotbed of jealosy, blackmail, greed - and fear. There's been a previous killing - and then there's a third. Flowers better catch the killer before there's a fourth murder - because that could be his own.
