High school sweethearts Lauren and Rory are a golden couple. They marry after college just as Rory, a star hockey player, earns a spot in the NHL. Their future looks bright when Rory shocks everyone by enlisting in the U.S. Army. When he dies in combat, Lauren is devastated and alone. Under unbearable public scrutiny, she retreats to her family's old beach house on the Jersey Shore. But a stranger doing a documentary about Rory finds her, and asks for an hour of her time. An hour that turns into a summer of revelations, surprises, and upheaval.
