‘That’s what my journey is all about, I have to find that house, though quite what happens when I do I don’t know. I think it’s supposed to be good, a good outcome, but I don’t know what that means.’ Living with a violent stepdad, and bullied at school, thirteen-year-old Oliver Carrick has a difficult and lonely life. But Oliver has a secret; for at night, he has dreams of a strange house. A house that he believes holds the key to his happiness. As Oliver’s behaviour deteriorates, he finds himself suspended from school. And when his stepdad finds out, with terrifying consequences, Oliver runs away to find that house of his dreams. So begins a fantastic journey, as Oliver meets three amazing people. He also meets a homeless girl, Jess, who mysteriously seems to have had the same dreams. Together they deal with challenges and adventures beyond their wildest imagination, on their incredible quest to find real happiness.
