Arthur Christopher Benson was a prominent English essayist, poet, and academic known for his contributions to literature and education. He served as the 28th Master of Magdalene College, Cambridge, where he lectured in English Literature after teaching at Eton. His notable achievements include writing the lyrics to "Land of Hope and Glory" and holding various leadership roles at Magdalene College, including president and Master. He was also involved with Gresham's School as a governor from 1906 until his passing in 1925.
