Originally launching a homemade raft in 1965, they now embark on a luxurious cruise aboard The Belle of Natchez. Their reunion is tinged with the bittersweet purpose of honoring their late friend, Margaret ("Baby") Ballou, by scattering her ashes in New Orleans. The narrative explores themes of friendship, loss, and the passage of time, highlighting the enduring bonds formed during their formative years.
