Focusing on the intersection of translation and power dynamics, this book presents Critical Translation Studies (CTS) as a cultural-studies approach within Translation Studies. Drawing inspiration from Critical Discourse Analysis, CTS emphasizes translation as a social practice influenced by societal power relations. It argues that translators play a crucial role in shaping perceptions of translation, challenging the traditional binary view of language and community by historicizing the social contexts that inform these interactions.
