Set during the week before Christmas, the story follows Bertram, an angel disguised as Santa Claus, tasked with reviving the Christmas spirit. He aims to assist Richard Garrison, who is struggling with turning fifty, by encouraging him to mentor Bobby, a boy whose father is deployed. As Richard grapples with his own challenges, he repeatedly forgets to deliver a crucial gift to Bobby. The narrative unfolds as Bertram works to ensure that his plan succeeds by Christmas morning.
