Set in 1978, a family holiday in Oban takes a thrilling turn when Nick and Rosemary Storey discover a hidden hut filled with barrels of suspected illicit whisky. Their curiosity leads them to the unmistakable scent of fermenting barley, but after overhearing a conversation about the operation, Nick finds himself unable to alert the authorities. The situation escalates into a tense chase involving the Customs cutter "Venturous," as they navigate the dangers of catching whisky smugglers, facing unforeseen consequences along the way.
