Focusing on the modern perception of Greek landscapes and poetry, this work analyzes the writings of Seamus Heaney and Derek Mahon through travel writing, ecocriticism, and translation. It highlights Mahon's reflections on the Aegean from his travels and Heaney's engagement with Greece, while also examining their translations of C. P. Cavafy alongside George Seferis' original texts. This comparative study offers a fresh perspective on the connections between Greek modernity and Irish poetry, appealing to poetry enthusiasts and those interested in the cultural ties between Ireland and Greece.
