The Postcolonial City and its Subjects

Exploring the postcolonial city, this work examines the formation of new subjects within urban landscapes through the lens of literary and cultural narratives. It analyzes historical and contemporary urbanism debates, focusing on London, Nairobi, and Bombay. The author employs three theoretical frameworks: the role of postcolonial theory in shaping public identities, the emergence of postcolonial fictions as a new literary space, and the concept of feminist citizenship as a challenge to neoliberal constraints on public rights and spaces.
