Arthur Christopher Benson was a prominent English essayist, poet, and academic, known for his contributions to literature and his role as the 28th Master of Magdalene College, Cambridge. He authored the lyrics to "Land of Hope and Glory" and taught at Eton before returning to Cambridge in 1904. His academic career included serving as a Fellow and later as president and Master of Magdalene College until his death in 1925.
