Viac o knihe
Set during the Revolutionary era in Colonial America, the story follows Richard Dudgeon, an outcast who embraces the title of "Devil's disciple." In a striking twist, he ultimately makes a self-sacrificial act reminiscent of Christ, challenging the expectations of his claimed allegiance to evil. This play, George Bernard Shaw's eighth, marked his first financial success and solidified his reputation as a prominent playwright. It was later included in his 1901 collection, showcasing Shaw's penchant for paradox and complex character development.
