Focusing on binary star systems, this thesis presents a detailed analysis of model applications and algorithms for determining individual binary parameters. It includes an introduction to binary star theory, an overview of spectroscopy and photometry, and a description of the IRAF software used for data reduction and analysis. The work culminates in the application of these methods to the binary system UV Leonis, showcasing the resulting spectroscopical and photometrical findings.
