Set in November 1745, the story follows the Scottish Jacobite army under Charles Edward Stuart as they attempt to secure their position against King George's forces. After a victory at the Battle of Gladsmuir, the prince leads an invasion into England, relying on surprise and speed. Lord Kilmarnock's regiment, tasked with vital escort duties through dangerous territory, faces overwhelming odds with only 150 horsemen. Their successful rendezvous with the main Jacobite army is crucial for the campaign's survival against the advancing English regiments.
