The narrative explores the diverging paths of identical twins, Jesus and Jesse, raised in Bethlehem. While Jesus is educated in the synagogue and becomes an itinerant preacher, Jesse embraces Roman culture, attending schools and integrating into the empire. His journey leads him to Ostia, where he falls in love with Adriana, the daughter of a wealthy merchant. However, their romance faces challenges, especially after the tragic death of Jesse's friend Marcellus, prompting Jesse to make a pivotal decision about his future.
