As they investigate the circumstances surrounding the invitation and the man's supposed death, they confront their traumatic past and its lingering effects. Set against the backdrop of Portsmouth and the picturesque Northumberland countryside, the story unfolds over two decades, exploring themes of trauma, memory, and the quest for truth.
