Focusing on language ideologies within globalised contexts, this work employs ethnographic methods to explore the interplay of language and identity in Salsa dance communities in Germany and Australia. It delves into how language functions as a symbol in transnational, non-ethnic cultures, providing insights into the sociolinguistic dynamics at play. Through a deconstructive lens, the study reveals the complexities of communication and cultural expression in these diverse settings.
