Focusing on language ideologies within globalised contexts, this work employs ethnographic methods and a deconstructive lens to explore the role of language in Salsa dance communities in Germany and Australia. It investigates how languages function as symbols in transnational, non-ethnic cultures, offering insights into the complex interplay between language and identity in diverse social practices.
