Set in 1914 Louisiana, a young boy named Felix LeBlanc feels confined by his mundane life on the family farm. Inspired by his uncle's fiddle playing, he aspires to become a musician despite financial struggles and his mother's strict prohibitions against it. Undeterred, Felix secretly crafts his own fiddle from a cigar box and cypress wood, embarking on a solitary journey that tests his creativity and threatens his closest relationships. The story explores themes of passion, secrecy, and the struggle for self-expression amidst familial constraints.
