A retired art history professor, Megan Crespi, finds herself embroiled in a thrilling mystery after three Edvard Munch paintings, including "The Scream," are stolen. Accompanied by her Maltese dog, Button, and her friend Lili, Megan investigates potential suspects among major collectors, facing danger and kidnapping along the way. As she travels through Scandinavian cities, she uncovers connections to the fanatical "Norseliga" clan and other intriguing characters, all while her dog proves to be an unexpected ally in solving the case.
