Set in Los Angeles in 2002, the story follows Alex Whitman, tasked by a mysterious collector to find Séance Infernale, potentially the first film ever made. The film's creator, Augustin Sekuler, is revered by some as the true pioneer of motion pictures, overshadowing figures like the Lumière brothers and Thomas Edison. In 1890, Sekuler mysteriously disappeared while en route to unveil his groundbreaking invention, a moving picture machine, leaving behind a legacy shrouded in intrigue and unanswered questions.
