Focusing on a new generation of diasporic Anglophone South Asian women novelists, this comparative analysis examines the feminist perspectives of authors like Kiran Desai and Jhumpa Lahiri. It highlights the evolution of postcolonial and contemporary women's fiction since the late 1990s, emphasizing the unique cultural backgrounds of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and India. By shifting the emphasis from India-centric narratives, the study reveals how these transnational texts challenge traditional national assumptions and foster a distinct postcolonial feminist discourse.
