Set against the backdrop of Vietnam, the narrative explores the intertwined lives of Sandy and Anna as they navigate personal histories and unresolved traumas. Sandy, a volunteer, invites her friend Anna to explore the country, where they uncover connections to their families' pasts—Sandy's father, a Vietnam vet, and Anna's mother, a Vietnamese boat person. Their journey leads them to Tom, an Australian journalist, who encourages them to confront their legacies. A blind Buddhist nun in Halong Bay may hold the answers they seek, challenging their reluctance to face the past.
