A retired private detective finds himself entangled in a chaotic hunt for a big, floppy-eared hound named Clinton, who is sought after by the FBI, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and dangerous criminals. As Tree Callister attempts to understand the dog's significance, he and his wife, Freddie, unexpectedly grow attached to Clinton. Despite his desire to stay out of detective work, Tree is compelled to protect their new furry friend, risking his life in the process.
