After his hometown turns against him for a crime he didn't commit, Jacob Travers runs away and joins a gang of bank robbers. When a job goes bad and he's seriously wounded, Emory Moore, whom Jacob considers his only friend, leaves him to die or be caught. Determined to survive, he crawls to a deserted trading post and recovers in the care of a gentle soul. Back on the trail, Jacob becomes a hero when he saves a medicine-hawker and his assistant from an angry mob -- which brings him into a deadly ranch war, and face-to-face with Emory Moore.
