The Denver & Pacific track layers dodged snipers' bullets daily. The camp was hit by one night raid after another. Dynamite took its deadly toll. Summoned into action, range detectives Rainbow Ripley and Grumpy Gibbs found out early on that Ben Slade and his gunmen were at the core of these attacks. But Slade was only earning his pay at the one trade he'd ever learned. Who was supplying the cash? One thing was Slade was following somebody's orders and it was up to Rainbow and Grumpy to find the ringleader.
