It was the 150th day before the date set for his execution. He had entered a dimly lit bar by chance. She was alone, dressed in black, appearing unremarkable. Yet, she wore a hat that stood out in shape and color, a hat that seemed to say: "When I wear this hat, beware: I am ready for anything." She had no plans for the evening and agreed to accompany him to a show. Like two casual acquaintances, they exchanged no names, addresses, or personal details. Later, upon returning home, he found his wife dead, murdered, surrounded by three police officers. His alibi was a phantom.
